Pharmacology

Pharmacodynamics

Halazepam positively modulates GABA-A receptors4 through the benzodiazepine binding site, enhancing the action of GABA.4 This promotes chloride channel opening and membrane hyperpolarization, reducing neuronal excitability. Halazepam also modulates the translocator protein.

Pharmacokinetics

Halazepam undergoes hepatic metabolism.5
