Metaclazepam is a benzodiazepine with anxiety-reducing effects reported in a two-week study of patients with an anxiety disorder1 and comparatively limited sedative and muscle-relaxing properties. It is described as slightly more effective at reducing anxiety than bromazepam or diazepam. It can be habit-forming, and fatigue is a common side effect at high doses. Combining metaclazepam with alcohol can produce additive sedation and sleep-inducing effects.
