Mdphp
MDPHP is a stimulant1 in the pyrrolidinophenone class of cathinones, structurally related to α-PVP, α-PHP, and MDPV.2 It appeared primarily in Europe in the mid-2010s and has a limited history of use. Reports suggest that batches vary in purity and composition, with other cathinones sometimes sold as MDPHP, making its effects less predictable. Its unpleasant taste can occasionally cause nausea.
Dosage & Duration
Dosage
Doses are population estimates that vary widely between individuals.

Pharmacology
Pharmacodynamics
MDPHP is thought to inhibit dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake, based on its reported effects and structural similarity to studied cathinones and pyrovalerones. A serotonergic component has also been suggested, but these proposed mechanisms have not been established by formal pharmacological studies.

Interactions
An unlisted combination is an unknown one, not a safe one. Check a dedicated combination chart before mixing.

Addiction & Dependence
Psychological
ModerateWhile seemingly less compulsive than related cathinones like α-PHP and MDPV, users can still become trapped in cycles of chasing progressively shorter-lasting euphoria and avoiding the comedown. Some users report compulsive redosing patterns despite the drug not being particularly euphoric, with the short-lasting positive effects and undesirable comedown driving continued use.
Toxicity
No fatalities have been reported, although fatal toxicity is believed possible with overdose. One case of fetal death was temporally linked to MDPHP and α-PHP use in a pregnant female, though the exact cause of the intrauterine asphyxia was not determined.
Increased heart rate and blood pressure occur commonly during use; overdose could cause excessively elevated cardiovascular parameters, with complications such as myocardial infarction and stroke considered possible though not yet documented in medical case reports.
Psychosis Risk
Stimulant psychosis is possible with high doses, prolonged use, and sleep deprivation, but is not the typical effect at reasonable doses with adequate sleep. Case reports have documented psychosis and aggressiveness requiring police assistance. Nearly all severe experiences reported involve prolonged use over 1-2 days with little to no sleep. The psychological and cognitive negatives are significantly increased with multiple doses and sleep deprivation.
Seizure Risk
Overdose carries an increased risk of seizure, though no specific case reports describing MDPHP-induced seizures have been published.
History & Culture
MDPHP appears to have been synthesized around 1960, but its use emerged primarily in Europe in the mid-2010s. It was sold through the research chemical market as an alternative to cathinones such as α-PVP and MDPV, with greater popularity in some European countries, including Poland, than in North…
